When their 40-year-old Buderus unit failed, this multi-use building knew it was time to replace it.

The Problem: Small Commercial Building Relies on One boiler for all the Tenants

The 500,000 BTU unit provided heat and hot water to the private and business residents of their property, and they needed the work done quickly. Our team took on the job of retrofitting a new heating system that would meet the needs of the different tennants that relied on hot water.

The Solution: A Commercial-Grade Dual-Boiler System

We placed the boiler with twin Burnam cast-iron units that will stage on and off, adding redundancy while meeting the building’s BTU requirements. As part of the installation we:

• Kept the original cast-iron piping and the vent system that was added in the 1980’s.
• Removed the old expansion tank and replaced it with an ASME-rated one
• Redid the domestic water feed line and removed the redundant safeties that now come inside the new boilers.

It took less than a week on-site to replace everything and get the building back to full working order.
